Heat Reuse & Energy Integration

Transforming computing heat into urban energy: The circular energy loop of the Nordics and Baltics.

The Challenge of Urban Decarbonization

The growth of digital infrastructure in the Nordics and Baltics, while powered mostly by green energy, generates a colossal amount of waste heat, which is often discarded. This heat, a high-quality thermal energy source, represents an energy burden and operational cost for data centers, while overlooking a major urban decarbonization potential.

The challenge lies in the technical conversion and economic integration of this waste heat into urban district heating networks, a complex operation requiring cutting-edge thermal engineering expertise and rigorous local coordination.

The EDDU Energy Solution: Circular Energy

EDDU Energy offers to turn this waste heat into a new revenue stream and an environmental asset. We provide comprehensive expertise, from thermal feasibility studies to the engineering of industrial heat pumps needed to raise the water temperature (ideally from 40°C to 120°C). Our approach seamlessly integrates the heat from your data centers into local urban and industrial heating networks.

We ensure design, installation, and compliance, thereby creating a circular energy loop that reduces your operating costs and positions your infrastructure as a key player in the local energy transition.

💡 Did You Know?

In 2020, the recoverable waste heat potential from European data centers (estimated for 200 facilities) was 3.5 TWh (Terawatt-hours).

Your heat, our mission!

Dedicated to heat recovery: we handle everything to unlock the full value of your excess energy.

Thermal Feasibility Study

Precise analysis of your site's waste heat potential (flow, temperature, volume) and evaluation of local demand to define the optimal Energy Reuse Effectiveness (ERE) and project profitability.

Engineering and Network Design

Design and installation of high-performance exchanger systems and industrial heat pumps to match the water temperature to the requirements of local heating networks, ensuring a caloric efficiency greater than 95%.

Connection and Compliance

Coordination of interconnection works with district heating managers (e.g., Fortum, Stockholm Exergi) and regulatory support to ensure a smooth, compliant, and profitable injection of the recovered heat.
